1847 Wines

1847 Wines takes its name from the very beginnings of Barossa winemaking. In 1847 Johann Gramp bought land at Rowland Flat on the banks of what is now known as Jacob's Creek and planted the first commercial vineyard in the region, making his first vintage, a Riesling, from vines he imported from Germany. His son Gustav later established Orlando Wines on part of the estate.

The modern 1847 label honours that heritage with a portfolio of premium Barossa wines, led by Shiraz and other reds, made by winemakers who see the region's history as part of their story.

The wines can be tasted at the cellar door of its sister winery, Chateau Yaldara at Lyndoch, where visitors can explore the gardens and take a self-guided tour about Barossa winemaking.
