Beautiful Isle Wines comes from the family's Marion's Vineyard estate at Deviot in Tasmania's Tamar Valley, once an apple and pear orchard dating to the 1800s. The old apple shed still held boxes of labels from merchants who shipped the fruit to England.
The label began in 2010, when the founders blended odds and ends from the Marion's Vineyard winery on the tasting bench for fun. Their first releases carry the art of two old apple crate labels found in the shed, Haven and Beautiful Isle.
The cellar door is currently closed; visits can be arranged through David Feldheim.
