Berrigan Wines is a boutique, family-owned winery in the Adelaide Hills, led by Dan Berrigan and Wendi Ticao. Dan graduated in oenology and viticulture from the University of Adelaide's Waite Campus in 2003 and worked in Tasmania, Oregon and California's Russian River before leaving a secure career as a chief winemaker to pursue his own vineyard.
In 2020, despite the uncertainty facing the wine industry and the world, Dan and Wendi bought Shining Rock Vineyard at Nairne: 15 hectares at 400 metres in a rain shadow, on mica schist that shimmers in the sun and granite outcrops, with warm days and cool nights.
Dan is hands-on from managing the vines to plunging ferments and blending. Since February 2026 both the vineyard and winery have been certified by Sustainable Winegrowing Australia.
