Billanook Estate is a family winery at Chirnside Park in the Yarra Valley. The D'Aloisio family has been part of the valley's farming heritage since the late 1960s, and in 1994 planted the first vines on their 36-hectare property, known as Yarraland.
The first plantings were Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot and Pinot Noir, with Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. In 2011 the family added the Italian varieties Barbera, Sangiovese and Nebbiolo, and Spain's Tempranillo.
The Yarraland Vineyard is meticulously managed, and family members oversee the whole process from harvest to bottle.
