Cape Landing is an independent, family-owned vineyard in Margaret River, first planted in 1998. Under previous owners Larry and Cheryl de Jong it supplied premium fruit to major regional winemakers for nearly twenty years.
Mark Lewis, whose family emigrated from England to Western Australia in 1976, and his wife Sarah took over in 2016, realising a long-held dream after years of visiting the area with Mark's sons George and Dylan. After two vintages selling fruit, the quality of the vineyard led them to launch their own Cape Landing label of single-vineyard wines.
The vineyard now covers about 15 hectares. Semillon was replaced with Gingin Chardonnay in 2019, and in 2023 a block of Cabernet Sauvignon was grafted to Malbec and a new block of Clone 95 Chardonnay was planted.
