Castle Rock Estate

Castle Rock Estate is a family winery on the eastern slopes of the Porongurup Range, in Western Australia's Great Southern region, named after a nearby granite landmark. It was established by Angelo and Wendy Diletti in the early 1980s. The cool, elevated, north-east-facing vineyard gives intensely flavoured wines, especially Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

After some 40 vintages, Castle Rock's Riesling is renowned for quality and ageing potential, with six Riesling blocks allowing different styles. The founders' son Rob Diletti grew up working in the vineyard, co-designed the 200-tonne estate winery in 2001, and soon won recognition for his wines, including Young Winemaker of the Year and the inaugural Winemaker of the Year in James Halliday's Wine Companion. He is also a long-standing wine show judge.
