Deviation Road

Deviation Road is an Adelaide Hills winery run by Hamish and Kate Laurie, best known as one of Australia's finest small sparkling wine houses. Hamish is a fifth-generation South Australian vigneron with experience across viticulture, production and sales. Kate, originally from Western Australia, decided at 19 that winemaking was her ticket to all things French, and studied at the Lycée Viticole d'Avize in Champagne.

The traditional-method sparkling wines are made from hand-picked fruit, mostly from high-altitude sites in the Piccadilly Valley, with all winemaking, ageing and disgorging done at their Longwood winery. Critics praise their purity and precision; late-disgorged releases such as the Beltana are counted among the country's best. The still wines focus on cool-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Deviation Road holds a five red star rating in the 2025 Halliday Wine Companion. The tasting room hosts tastings, masterclasses and events.
