Eperosa

Eperosa is a small Barossa Valley producer run by Brett Grocke, a sixth-generation Barossan, with his partner Megan. His forebears planted vineyards and made wine beside Jacob's Creek in the Krondorf sub-region in the 1840s, and the family has farmed Barossa vineyards in every generation since. The vineyards Eperosa farms today were acquired in 2013.

The motto is 'wines built from the soil up'. Drawing on years of vineyard management and consulting, the vines are farmed on organic and regenerative principles, with hand pruning, shoot and bunch thinning, and hand-picked, hand-sorted fruit, often over several passes. In the winery, whole clusters are foot-stomped in small open fermenters, kept on skins for 18 to 24 days, basket-pressed into French oak and aged on lees, with little or no additions.

Critics rate Eperosa among the very best producers in the Barossa, and some among the best in Australia.
