Fallen Giants is a family-owned vineyard on the steep eastern slopes of the Grampians, planted in 1969 to Shiraz, Cabernet and Riesling, part of the revival of Victorian wine after decades of little new planting. Its 23 acres sit on red clay loam with granite and ironstone washed down from Boronia Peak.
The vineyard long supplied many of the country's great wineries. In 1996 it was bought by the late winemaker Trevor Mast and became a staple of Mount Langi Ghiran, until the present owners bought it in 2013 and renamed it Fallen Giants.
It has been farmed organically since 2018 and certified since 2022, with consultant Tim Brown helping on organic management and pruning. Native grass cover crops, more than 100 beehives and regenerating bush across 30% of the property support the land.
