Fireblock is a producer at Watervale in the Clare Valley, on a vineyard formerly called Old Station Vineyard and renamed Fire Block in 2003.
The site was planted in 1926 with dry-grown bush vines, mainly Grenache and Shiraz. The name comes from the firebreaks cleared along the railway in the 1920s to catch sparks from steam trains.
