Situated south of Bathurst in the Central Ranges region of New South Wales, Grass Parrot Vineyard is a small, family-operated business established by winemaker Andrew Macarthur. The property was named after the numerous grass parrots that visit the site, following a comment made by a local character.
The producer focuses on cool climate wines, with a primary emphasis on estate-grown Cabernet Franc, Shiraz, and additional varieties. Viticultural management relies on sustainable organic methods, while the winemaking process is low intervention. Although there is no permanent cellar door, the wines are distributed through local markets, select cafes and restaurants, and a local bottler.
