Hare's Chase is a Barossa Valley winery on a hilltop at Marananga, with commanding views over a patchwork of vineyards planted across ancient, ever-changing soils. Its aim is wines that reflect this landscape while creatively pushing new boundaries.
Winemaker Matt Reynolds takes a minimalist approach, letting each vineyard and vintage express itself, and promotes a close connection between vineyard, winemaker and winery. The hare on the labels symbolises the wines: an animal with an innate ability to adapt and thrive in its environment.
Hare's Chase is a certified member of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia in both its vineyards and winery, with a 30kW solar system, rainwater collection, recycled winery wastewater, soil moisture probes and work to protect native biodiversity.
