Henley Park Wines is at Henley Brook in the Swan Valley, on land first planted with vines in 1895 by Henry John Saunders, one of Perth's early mayors, who developed 500 acres including an orchard and a 12-acre vineyard. It opened as an official winery in 1935.
Each owner has added their own style while keeping the traditions. Claus and Lisbet ran it from 1993 to 2022, learning from French winemaker Vincent Desplat and building a following in Denmark.
Today 11 acres carry 6,500 vines. Winemakers Lance and Troy, both with long careers at Houghton and vintages abroad, run the vineyard and winery.
