Jericho Wines is a family wine business whose roots go back to 1945, when Vic and Grace Jericho began growing grapes at Barmera in South Australia's Riverland, planting Shiraz, Grenache, Pedro Ximénez and Palomino. Vic, a keen hobby carpenter, signed his name on everything he made, and his handwriting now appears on the front of every Jericho label.
Their youngest son Neil started out as a carpenter before studying oenology and wine marketing at Roseworthy, and his winemaking career took the family to several regions. With more than 60 years of combined winemaking experience, the family came together under one banner as Jericho Family Wines, focusing on the Adelaide Hills and other top South Australian regions.
The tasting room is at Verdun in the Adelaide Hills.
