John Barton Hack makes its wine in the McLaren Vale region. The label is named in honour of John Barton Hack, who planted the first grape vines in South Australia in 1837 and is widely seen as the father of that state's wine industry.
Fruit comes from the 120-acre JBH Vineyard across McLaren Vale, Kangarilla, and Maslins Beach, which contains Shiraz and Grenache vines planted in 1915 and 1920. The producer makes Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, and Rosé wines.
