Lake Road Wines began in Gisborne, where vines were first planted in 1975. The business has been operated across three generations of the Blampied family. Today, brothers Steven and Andrew Blampied oversee viticulture, winemaking, and sales operations, with consulting winemaker Simon Nunns working alongside Andrew on production.
Wine is produced from the company's own vineyards as well as through partnerships with artisan growers in New Zealand regions such as Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, and Marlborough. Its brands and collections include Lake Road Reserve, Lake Road Estate Series, Kōpū, and Stoney River.
