Lindeman's

Lindeman's is one of Australia's oldest and most widely known wine names. It was founded in 1843 when Dr Henry Lindeman, an English surgeon, planted vines at Cawarra in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, and the brand now speaks of more than 175 years of winemaking.

Over the twentieth century Lindeman's became famous both for its long-lived Hunter Semillon and Shiraz and for great value wines such as the Bin 65 Chardonnay, which helped carry Australian wine to more than 100 countries. In Coonawarra, Lindeman's built a reputation for structured reds, including the Limestone Ridge Shiraz Cabernet, St George Cabernet Sauvignon and Pyrus blend.

Lindeman's is now part of Treasury Wine Estates. Wines made at its large Karadoc winery near Mildura are listed separately under Lindeman's (Karadoc).
