Montague Estate is a boutique vineyard in the Wilyabrup Valley, one of the beating hearts of the Margaret River region, specialising in small-release, locally made wines. The vineyard was planted in 1988, and Montague Estate is a new chapter built on the legacy of its earlier custodians, Arlwood Estate and Heydon Estate.
The owner is the sixth-generation Western Australian to bear the Montague name, a family whose story stretches from Normandy and England to Australia. Winemaker Jono began his career in Margaret River in 1994 and then worked a vintage at Amity Vineyards in Oregon's Willamette Valley, which fired a lifelong passion for winemaking.
The wines aim for purity, grace and elegance, and are sold online and through the Montague Estate wine club.
