Mount Stapylton Wines

Mount Stapylton Wines is a family vineyard in western Victoria, where the Grampians meet the Wimmera, run by the Staehr family, who have farmed in the Laharum district north-west of the Grampians National Park for generations. In 1957 third-generation farmer Ivan, his wife Shirley and sons Gary and Howard took up a soldier settlement block, growing grain and breeding merino sheep.

The family planted the vineyard on the historic Goonwinnow property in 2002. Howard ran it, with winemaker Don McRae, from the first vintage in 2004, and his Shiraz won multiple international awards over 14 vintages. In 2017 Gary and his wife Mary, with their children Robert and Victoria and Victoria's husband Heath, took over the vineyard.

The family makes small-batch vintage wines, especially Shiraz, to enjoy with family and friends.
