Oakover Grounds is a true Swan Valley family winery with roots in four generations of the Yukich family. Grandfather Nikola first planted grapevines on the land in 1929, and the plantings grew over the years until, in 1989, his son Mark bought an additional 45 hectares from Houghton Estate and Oakover Grounds was born.
Today the winery is run by third-generation owners Kim, Graeme and Mark Yukich, who can still be found working in the vineyard. The family honours its Croatian heritage while respecting the place and provenance of the Swan Valley, and a new generation has trained in viticulture, studying through Charles Sturt University.
Over three decades Oakover has built a reputation for quality, approachable wines suited to the Swan Valley's Mediterranean climate and lifestyle, with a growing collection of awards for value. The winemaking philosophy is true varietal character, depth of flavour and approachability, offering exceptional quality for the price.
