Ottelia is a family-owned and operated winery in Coonawarra that celebrates the individual regions of the Limestone Coast, with two generations of the Innes family making wines that express its lesser-known regions. John Innes has spent decades as a winemaker and consultant across the Limestone Coast, while Melissa established a restaurant.
John began as assistant winemaker to the late Italian winemaker Carlo Corino for five years, and believes great wine is made in the vineyard, with winemaking that preserves the pure flavours of the grape. Ottelia is a certified member of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia in both vineyard and winery.
In 2017 the second generation, Matilda and Paul, left Melbourne to help run the business. The family runs a tasting room and restaurant.
