Oyster Bay's first vintage, 1990, won a gold medal and the Marquis de Goulaine Trophy for best Sauvignon Blanc at the 1991 International Wine and Spirit Competition in London.
Its vineyards are in Marlborough and Hawke's Bay, and it makes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Merlot, rosé and a sparkling cuvée. It was a founding member of Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand.
