Rutherglen Estate is a North East Victorian wine brand from Rutherglen, a region famous for its fortified Muscats and Topaques as well as robust table wines such as Durif and Shiraz. The brand is now part of the De Bortoli family's portfolio, and its former web address leads to De Bortoli's Rutherglen cellar door.
That cellar door occupies a historic winery building constructed in 1886, which was home to Seppelt's wines for more than a century. It has been updated with contemporary tasting facilities and an art gallery featuring Indigenous art, and offers experiences such as wine blending and food-and-wine pairings.
Next door, the Tuileries restaurant serves refined country cooking, with accommodation overlooking the vineyards, making the site a full wine-country destination in Rutherglen.
