Samantha May Wines was founded in 2022 by winemaker Samantha Sutherland as a solo venture, following her work with Gilbert Family Wines. Based in Orange, New South Wales, the label produces small-batch, single-vineyard wines sourced from across the state.
Grapes come from Carrington Vineyard and Gordon Hills Vineyard in Orange, Tumblong Hills Vineyard in Gundagai, and Mudgee. Releases include Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, a skin-contact Riesling called Citrine, and a Tempranillo-Sangiovese blend named Rizzo. Minimal-intervention methods include native-yeast ferments, basket pressing, clay amphora, and neutral French and Austrian oak.
