Samson Tall is the McLaren Vale venture of Paul Wilson and Heather Budich, who make wine from grapes bought from local growers in a small winery on their Strout Road property.
Their cellar door is in a small restored church built in 1854, with a historic cemetery behind it, lawns and views over the vineyards. Visitors praise the welcome and the value of the wines.
The wines have scored highly with Halliday, including 96 points for the 2022 Hatwell Single Vineyard Grenache, and the 2026 Grenache Rosé won the trophy for best rosé at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show.
