Stephen Shelmerdine, along with his wife Kate and mother Marigold, founded Shelmerdine Vineyards in 1989. Prior to this, Stephen was involved with the Mitchelton vineyard and winery tourism complex located in the Goulburn Valley, starting from its beginning in 1969 until November 2001.
To mark Vintage 2001, the Shelmerdine family released special commemorative wines. This milestone celebrated the family's 125 years in Victoria, as well as their 40 years and three generations of participation in the restaurant, viticulture, and wine industries.
