Silent Noise is the McLaren Vale label of winemaker Charlie O'Brien, whose parents Kevin and Helen O'Brien founded Kangarilla Road winery in 1997. Charlie grew up with the winery as the family home and a vineyard management business next door, surrounded by the constant noise of tractors, trucks and machinery at vintage, which inspired the name.
His love of wine started early: he was topping barrels and had his own toddler-sized hand plunger at age three. Since leaving school he has worked with other producers to broaden his skills.
Charlie's approach is simple: treat the vineyard with the utmost respect, from soil to grape, because excellent winemaking starts with outstanding fruit.
