Studley Park Vineyard is about a hectare of land on the Yarra River flood plain at Kew, only 4 km from the Melbourne CBD, making it the closest vineyard to the city. It sits beside Yarra Bend National Park, in an area where Kew, Hawthorn and Balwyn once had significant vineyards.
The land was a market garden when a single acre of Cabernet Sauvignon was planted in 1994, in east-west rows so floodwater can flow between them.
The vineyard has been rated four stars by a leading wine writer.
