Talbots Block is a Clare Valley Shiraz producer. In 1997 the Talbots, two Shiraz lovers, fell for the Clare Valley and bought a block of wine country, dreaming of one day making their own wine.
Encouraged by friends who loved their early test batches, they started the business in 2011. Their 5-hectare vineyard, at more than 450 metres on gently undulating slopes, is planted only to Shiraz, and its mature, low-yielding vines give concentrated fruit.
There is no cellar door, but vineyard visits are available by appointment.
