Established with its debut 2011 Sauvignon Blanc vintage, te Pā Wines is owned and managed by Haysley MacDonald, who traces his family history back 800 years to early Māori arrivals at the Wairau Bar. Chief Winemaker Sam Bennett directs winemaking, utilising vineyards situated in Marlborough across the Awatere and Lower Wairau valleys.
The estate cultivates Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc, bottling under the core te Pā range, te Pā Reserve Collection, Pā Road, and Koha. Certified through Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand, the operation uses organic mulching, seasonal sheep grazing, and packaging designed with a low carbon footprint.
