Terra Felix

Terra Felix was established in 2001. The name is Latin for 'lucky earth' or 'lucky country', which is how owner Peter Simon's father described Australia when he migrated from Austria. The aim is exceptional, affordable wines from Australia's established and emerging premium regions.

Peter and two partners bought the business outright in 2005, and in 2007 the 2005 Shiraz Viognier was named Wine of the Year in the Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide. The range grew to include Mourvèdre, Viognier, Moscato and Sagrantino, and in 2010 the wines won five trophies and nine gold medals.

Since 2012 the Regional Selection range has showcased individual regions, including Barossa and McLaren Vale Shiraz, Coonawarra Cabernet, and Yarra Valley Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet, along with Heathcote Shiraz, Alpine Valleys Chardonnay and a King Valley Prosecco, with growing emphasis on cool-climate fruit.
