Winemaker Steve Grimley operates The 5OS Project in McLaren Vale. The Malbec venture began when Grimley and a grower mistakenly believed their fruit was Merlot, prior to an ampelographer correctly identifying the variety as Malbec.
The project crafts a McLaren Vale Malbec alongside a Nero Blend. Grapes utilized for the Malbec are obtained directly from the Lopresti vineyard.
