Walter Thomson and his wife Jane arrived in Australia in 1838. They established a winemaking tradition that continues today.
The wines produced are associated with Byrne Vineyards. Among these is the Toolunka Cabernet Sauvignon, which gets its name from an ancient flood plain belonging to the River Murray in South Australia.
