Tomboy Hill

Tomboy Hill was established in 1984 by former schoolteacher Ian Watson in Ballarat, about 2 km north of the Eureka Rebellion site. It specialises in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

The vineyard is planted in the Burgundian way on a 1 m by 1.2 m grid, low-trellised and pruned, sprayed and picked by hand. Fruit also comes from small vineyards across the Ballarat goldfields, and the wines have been made by Ian Watson and Scott Ireland.

Tomboy Hill has won the Max Loder trophy for best regional Chardonnay and Pinot Noir at the Ballarat Wine Show.
