Walnut Block Wines

Brothers Clyde and Nigel Sowman established Walnut Block Wines in 2005. Their family vineyard was initially planted in 1996 within the Rapaura sub-region of the Wairau Valley. The producer takes its name from a walnut tree exceeding 150 years of age—the oldest in Marlborough—which grows amongst the Sauvignon Blanc vines.

With Nigel Sowman managing the viticulture, the winery produces the prestige Nutcracker label alongside the premium Collectables series. The wine styles and varieties crafted include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Rosé, as well as a limited edition Viognier.
