Whistling Kite Biodynamic Wines is a family vineyard on the banks of the Murray River at New Residence in South Australia's Riverland, where the family has cared for the land since 1976.
The owners treat the vineyard as a living ecosystem rather than a factory, in which worms, birds, bees, microbes and vines all play a part. Biodynamic methods, including composts and cover crops, keep that balance, and the wines are made from organically and biodynamically grown fruit.
The cellar door overlooks the River Murray and invites visitors to taste the wines and hear the vineyard's story.
