Windows Estate is a family vineyard in Margaret River, run by viticulturist Chris Davies, who began farming the land at the age of 19, and his wife Joanne, who comes from four generations of farmers. The vineyard is certified organic, and the couple follows a holistic, regenerative farming model.
Chris has thought carefully about every aspect of the site: the pitch of the land, soils, varieties and clones, row orientation, and natural tree lines that help retain acidity. The vines are dry-farmed on ancient laterite, clay and granite soils, and individual blocks, some named after the couple's children, are bottled to show their differences. Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are among the key varieties.
Critics have called Windows Estate a strong contender for Margaret River's most exciting emerging producer, and it was shortlisted for Vineyard of the Year at the 2024 Young Gun of Wine awards.
