Yeringberg

Yeringberg is one of the Yarra Valley's historic estates. Baron Frederic-Guillaume de Pury migrated from Switzerland in 1852, worked with Chateau Yering, and in 1863 bought 450 hectares in the central Yarra Valley, planting 32 hectares of vines alongside sheep and cattle. His son George developed it into one of Australia's most famous vineyards, until the farm turned to cattle and sheep in 1921.

George's son Guillaume (Guill) and his wife Katherine replanted vines on the north-east slopes his grandfather had chosen more than a century earlier, starting with two acres. Viticulturist David de Pury returned in 1997 and winemaker Sandra de Pury in 2000, and the two gradually took over the estate.

The family see themselves as custodians of the land. The 2022 Yeringberg was named the Real Review's 2025 Red Wine of the Year.
