Cael's Gate is a family-owned boutique winery at Broke Fordwich in the Hunter Valley. Chris Chew and Reyna fell in love with the Hunter when they married there in 2007, and Chris made his first wine in a Sydney garage in 2016.
In 2021 they found the property that became Cael's Gate, and in 2022 planted Samuel Vineyard, named after Chris's late brother, with Tempranillo on stony slopes. They also make small-batch wines from selected sites across New South Wales.
Cael's Gate was rated a 5-star winery in the 2025 and 2026 Halliday Wine Companion. The cellar door is on Wollombi Road at Broke.
