Dorrien Estate

Dorrien Estate was established in 1988 on the site of the historic Dorrien settlement in the Barossa, once the railway hub from which the region's wines were sent around Australia and overseas. That idea of reaching out to other places shapes how it makes wine today.

Rather than relying on its own vineyards, Dorrien Estate sources grapes from growers across the country, from Margaret River and the Great Southern in Western Australia to the Yarra Valley, Heathcote, the Hunter Valley, Tumbarumba, Canberra, Tasmania's Coal River Valley and the main regions of South Australia. Because those regions ripen at different times, its winemakers travel for one of the longest vintages in Australia, often from January to June.

The winemaking team is led by Tim Heath, who has worked in New Zealand, France and Australia and focuses on matching each site and variety. The result is a wide range of small-batch wines from many regions, sold mainly through Endeavour Group, which owns the business.
