Hungerford Hill

Hungerford Hill began in the Hunter Valley in the 1960s and has grown into one of New South Wales' leading wineries. It now looks after two of the Hunter's most significant vineyards: Sweetwater, known for its award-winning reds, and the historic Dalwood Vineyard, first planted in the 1820s and widely seen as the birthplace of Australian wine.

As well as Hunter Valley Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz, Hungerford Hill makes wines from cooler, higher regions in New South Wales, including the Hilltops around Young and Boorowa, known for Cabernet and other reds, and Tumbarumba in the Snowy Mountains foothills, used for elegant Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Fortified and dessert wines also feature in the range.

The winery is rated five stars in the Halliday Wine Companion and has been named one of Australia's top wineries by The Real Review. Its cellar door is on Broke Road at Pokolbin.
