Krinklewood Biodynamic Vineyard

Krinklewood is a certified biodynamic and organic vineyard in the Hunter Valley, rated a five-star winery by James Halliday. It was founded in 1981 by Rod Windrim and family. Rod, a master builder with a love of France, began converting to organic and biodynamic farming in 2002, when most in the Hunter would have raised an eyebrow at the idea.

The 150-acre property, with 49 acres of vines, sits beneath the Brokenback Range beside Wollombi Brook. All wines are estate grown, without synthetic chemicals, and vineyard work follows the lunar cycle, with natural composts and biodynamic preparations feeding the soil.

The French-inspired winery and cellar door are surrounded by Provençal-style gardens and roaming peacocks. The estate also offers sustainable farm-stay accommodation, hosts weddings, and runs a wine club with tastings and discounts.
