Pipers Brook Vineyard

Pipers Brook Vineyard is one of the pioneers of Tasmanian wine, with estate vines planted in 1974 on the volcanic soils of Pipers Brook in the island's north-east. The founders set out to make exceptional cool-climate wine that would express the pristine beauty of carefully chosen sites, coveted for terroir reminiscent of France's great regions and shaped by a temperate climate and proximity to Bass Strait.

Today the vineyard is part of Kreglinger Wine Estates, which brings more than 200 years of European heritage to the property. The Pipers Brook label, the estate's founding range, is 100 percent estate grown and includes Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Rosé. Kreglinger also makes traditional method sparkling wine from the Pipers River region, alongside the Pipers Tasmania range and Ninth Island, named after a tiny windswept island just offshore and made in a fresh, easy-drinking style from Tamar Valley fruit.

The cellar door is at 1216 Pipers Brook Road inside Nadine's at Pipers, a working winery café surrounded by vines and native bushland, where the full range can be tasted and bought.
