Riggs & Wiggs brings together winemaker Iain Riggs and vineyard owner Peter. Iain has more than 50 years in wine; he joined Brokenwood in the Hunter Valley in 1982 and led it as chief winemaker and managing director for nearly four decades. He was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2018.
After a 30-year finance career, Peter bought the Cullarin Vineyard, the Canberra District's oldest, in 2010, followed by Eden Road Wines and, in 2014, the historic Cote d'Or vineyard in Pokolbin, first planted by the Wilkinson family in 1866. He and Iain restored its 19th-century concrete vats.
The wines draw on these and other historic sites, including Hunter Semillon from Mangerton and Stanleigh Park, added in 2024.
