Winmark Wines is a 130-acre estate at Broke in the Hunter Valley, combining wine, art and nature. The vineyard was established in 1988 by the late Macquarie Bank founder David Clarke, who named it Pooles Rock after a large rock where, the story goes, convict Richard Poole slept in the early 1800s.
Karin Adcock bought the property in 2016 as a family retreat, then, recognising its potential for premium Chardonnay, established Winmark Wines. The vineyard has been renewed with new Chardonnay clones, and international winemaker John Belsham consults.
Since 2018 the estate has been fully renovated, with sculptures and artworks from around the world, an art gallery, a cellar door and accommodation.
