Nugan Estate is a family-owned wine company whose story spans more than 80 years and three generations. In 1938 Alfredo and Annelise Nugan left their home village of Alcira in Spain and migrated to Australia, bringing with them European traditions, including the enjoyment of wine.
Today the business is owned and run by their grandson Matthew Nugan, who has been central to its growth since 1984. Nugan Estate is one of Australia's top 20 wine producers and one of its largest exporters of branded wine, making premium wines from selected vineyards in the Riverina, King Valley, Langhorne Creek, McLaren Vale and Coonawarra. It has won 44 trophies and more than 1,500 medals, including over 200 gold medals.
In keeping with Alfredo's generous spirit, Nugan Estate and one of its partners have jointly funded the building of 14 preschools in Africa.
